The phrase “Execution Only” is used to describe the purchase of an investment by an investor through a third party, such as Mondial (Dubai) LLC, or a bank or broker, on the understanding that the investor knows exactly what he/she/they are buying and on the basis that NO ADVICE is required.

From Mondial’s perspective, an EXECUTION ONLY DISCLAIMER form would need to be required. Key points to note within such a transaction include, but are not limited to:

1. Despite the fact that NO ADVICE will be given, the usual set of Anti-Money Laundering (AML) paperwork will STILL be needed. This requires a basic level of KYC (Know Your Client), to demonstrate that the third party broker/introducer is fully aware of the people they are assisting in transacting the trade or the purchase. Whilst paperwork requirements vary between different institutions, investors should generally expect to provide: passports; proof of address; and utility bills; as a minimum.
2. At Mondial (Dubai) LLC, we will undertake Execution Only deals as long as the AML paperwork is completed and as long as the Execution Only Disclaimer is signed. However, it is NOT our recommended or preferred route for doing business. At Mondial, we recognise that our brand will be built on relationship management and the Execution Only route diminishes the relationship structure.
3. WHAT HAPPENS IN A DISPUTE? Within an Execution Only transaction it would be extremely difficult for an investor to claim that they have been “miss-sold” a product or asset, or that the advice was poor (it will be assumed that there was NO ADVICE- BECAUSE IT WAS REFUSED). At Mondial, we would take the view that the investor was always fully aware of the risk and the product details.
4. To assist investors who are determined to operate on an Execution Only basis we will however provide a Product Matrix. It should be noted that the Matrix is Mondial’s in-house view of product suggestions and recommendations.
