What is Financial Planning?

At Mondial (Dubai) LLC we train our advisers to see Financial Planning as a process. Indeed the CONFIDENTIAL CLIENT PROFILE (CCP) is designed to accommodate the complete Planning Process.

This means that in order to process a transaction the Compliance Department will expect to see a FULLY COMPLETED Confidential Client Profile. The CCP needs to be signed by the investor.

As a result, the CCP process will go through the following steps:

  1. Personal Details
  2. Income and Expenditure… voluntary, but useful.
  3. Balance Sheet Overview…what assets are currently held by the client?
  4. Balance Sheet assessment:….looking at balance sheet liquidity (short term assets versus medium term assets versus long term assets).
  5. Investment Risk Questionnaire.
  6. Investor Experience Questionnaire.
  7. Agreed Attitude to Risk (tolerance to loss).
  8. Protection.
  9. Lifeline… a Future Needs Analysis.
  10. Solution Building.

The full Financial Planning process suits those who are:

  1. Either taking stock of where they are at today, financially. Answering the question: how far will what I have today and what I intend to save in the future; how will that get me in terms of where I wish to be in the future?
  2. Or, those starting out on a Financial Plan.
  3. Whether looking at starting the planning process, or looking at the present position of a plan, the following main headings should drive the discussion:
    • PROTECTION: What protection needs do I need for my family? What would happen to my family in the event of my death, injury, or serious ill-health?
    • RETIREMENT: What will my family live-off when I retire?
    • INVESTMENT: What lifestyle do I need in the future, and do I
      have the right assets for my “attitude to risk?”.
    • SAVINGS: What “emergency cash funds” do I have?
    • DEBT: What is my overall debt position: mortgages, credit
      cards, loans etc?

Many of the “solutions” will be packaged together from The PRODUCT LIST, which reflects the vast range of solution-providers available to Mondial. This means that investors/clients should be aware of two lines of communication/paperwork/service:

  1. Completing “product paperwork”. This will involve:
    • CCP sign-off by Client/investor.
    • Written Report from adviser.
    • Application Forms for product.
    • Anti-Money Laundering paperwork.
