Hailing from Kolkata in India, Khalid Shamim was recruited after a Mondial foray into the subcontinent. Mondial was keen to boost its Indian connections and Khalid bridged a useful gap in that he had enjoyed a lifestyle in Dubai with ABN Amro Bank/Royal Bank of Scotland on the one hand; and with Standard Chartered Bank in India, on the other hand.

Following a seven year industry stint, Khalid has extensive knowledge of the Indian financial services scene and offshore financial planning & wealth management.

Educated in his home city of Kolkata, Khalid has achieved a PGDM (Post Graduate Diploma in Management), B.Com Honours, from Calcutta University; and has subsequently attained qualifications with AMFI (Association of Mutual Funds in India), and IRDA (Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority, India), which are necessary qualifications for anybody practising financial planning and wealth management in India.

A committed family man, Khalid also passes time playing both football and cricket, but also enjoys reading, and "Bollywood".
