Mondial Money

Welcome to Mondial Money, a newsletter from Mondial Financial Partners which brings you a monthly round-up of client-focused news and opinions from leading names in the financial services industry. In each issue, we'll also present key offers and stock tips from our top product providers.

Within this month's Viewpoint, RMB Asset Management looks at why equities and bonds are currently performing so differently on the world markets as well as discussing what a hung parliament will mean for Sterling. There's also a focus on China's financial recovery and its impact globally as well as a rundown of Asset Class performances over the last month.

The British elections are also very much in the financial news elsewhere and in our Mondial in the Media section, Sean Kelleher, Chairman of Mondial Financial Partners writes in the Gulf News that from an investors point of view, it really matters little who won the election. More locally, he also points out the opportunities the emerging market regions currently present for investors - their 'time is now' according to the financial big guns with the MENA region earmarked as one of the faster growing sub-sets.

Meanwhile in The National newspaper, Mondial Financial Adviser Bill Davey argues that although there are many factors to take into consideration when considering long-term investment, none are as important as actually getting started. On that note, in his Alternative View column each month, Bill will give his own slant on the financial services industry and the issues that affect investors at every level.

We hope you enjoy the read - and we'd be delighted for your feedback. If you would like to discuss any aspect of the newsletter in person, please do not hesitate to contact your financial adviser at Mondial Financial Partners.

Finally, a big thank you to those who attended our seminar and wine tasting event on Monday 10th where we provided a brief insight into our service launch, market overviews plus enjoyed a tipple or to round the evening off - I'm sure you'll agree the evening was a great success.

Have a good month!

An Alternative View

Welcome to the first edition of our corporate newsletter, Mondial Money. Having worked for Mondial for the last 12 years, whenever I am asked why I am still here, my standard response is to say: I have a good sense of humour, a high threshold of pain and a distinct lack of ambition. With respect to that last quality, I have steadfastly refused calls to higher office, preferring instead to shout abuse from the sidelines.

SELL - UK Government Gilts
The background

Most UK Government Gilts currently offer income yields of approximately 4.5 %, but as they typically were issued in times of higher interest rates, the capital values stand over 'par' - their eventual redemption prices - and so holders are guaranteed a capital loss.
