In the course of my work, I read a lot of material on financial markets and financial products arising from asset managers, platform providers, fund managers and professional bodies. Much of it is repetitive but occasionally I see something a bit special and often pass it on to clients who I think may be interested. Last month, I presented an article on investment opportunities in the UK equity market.
This month I have turned to a product provider, Quilter International, for an article describing the benefits of an offshore portfolio bond. This investment structure is offered by all offshore insurance companies and has been around for many years. In recent years, a lot of lump sum investment activity has been directed towards new offshore fund platforms and for many expatriates , depending on personal circumstances, this is the most cost-effective choice. But the benefits of an offshore bond should not be overlooked.
